hey there paint gurus........ couple of questions for you. is it possible to hook 2 compressors to a single line for a hvlp gun(a 5 psi and a 8 psi)? would that raise the cfm? and what minimum length long board should i get for blocking? this place has been a wealth of info and am looking forward to learning more in the future........ thanks, john

I use two compressors, plus an extra air tank, to assure I have lots of air, and also so I won't be shut down completely when a compressor wears out.
I usually buy 5-6 HP oiless compressors with 25-35 gallon tanks. You can usually buy them for about $300-$400 each.
I think the standard long board is about 17 inches, which is what the paper is precut for.

no- but try and get the same capicites on the holding tanks if you can, and if you get a diaphram style watch out for inline moisture.
You can also use a holding tank for extra air- such as a converted hot water tank- you will want to air this up outside to check for leaks before using indoors.Last edited by hambiskit; 01-16-2006 at 05:06 PM.

Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
