Any tricks to taping off louvers?
I need to paint the back of my hood for my '31 and of course I have 3 rows of louvers on each side. The outside has already been painted and cleared. Are there any painter's tricks to painting things with louvers and not get paint all over the other side? And if I do get paint on the other side is there a good way to remove it without damaging the paint and clear? Thanks!Go Hokies!!!!!! ACC CHAMPS '04,'07,'08

Get yourself so me fine line tape and place it around the outside openings of the louvers. next take some 3M light adhesive masking tape and place that over the fine line tape, after that use blue poly coated paper to mask the rest off and you are good to go. Expect a small amount of overspray which you can remove with a base/clear (less harsh and abrasive) rubbing compound (#3 at most)......
