Repainting
I had a Rod Shop to paint my car with House Of Colors candy paint. In the past they had always used PPG. The paint did not last to long dark spots started showing up in the car. Turns out they were given the wrong clear coat. My question is what is the correct way to prep the car for a repaint.

dark spots were likely bondo bleed. the dye in the hardener will leach out into the color if not sealed well. i use epoxy. you likely have excessive mill thickness on there now. to repaint you will need to block it as far as possible then seal with 2 coats of epoxy . the repaint. i use spi epoxy and clear .

Good epoxies and sealers are often left overlooked and unused by many shops in favor of the "shinies" that go on top!!!! If the substrate isn't right, no paint or clear will ever be right!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
