Where do you guys buy "stock" HEI distributors?
I need a new dist who got good quality for the buck? First place that comes to mind is Auto Zone but I know their stuff is all from overseas. This dist will be going in a 64 chevy truck with a 74 350 block. thanksFriends dont let friends drive fords!

Both Summit and Jegs have their own brand of HEI's for around $90.00 complete with coil, brass terminals, steel gear, etc. I do believe they would be considered stock replacements rather than high perormance. I put one in my vortec 350 rebuild. Havent fired it up yet...but cant wait!

I bought a couple of Summits, no complaints..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

I think the cheapest place to get a good HEI is . Competition Products They have an all new stock replacement distributor with the black brass terminals cap #MRG2100 for $89.99 . Or there HP HEI with it's High output Module and Coil . And it's HD Red brass terminals cap and performance Curve kit #66950 for $109.95 I think I am going to run that 66950 HEI in the Budget 350 I am working on now . COOL

Try Jim Pace Performance Parts. They are a GM dealer selling alot online. Accel sells refurbished originals, I think. I have a Genuine GM from a 75 Chevelle I no longer use but the guts are old. It worked great but it would cost a few bucks for new guts. MSD would be the best but you pay.
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
