Before the floor could be tried for fit (all four fenders are attached to the Bebops floor), I worried about the fact that I had notched the only crossmember so another crossmember was fabricated from 1 1/2" x 3" rectangular tubing. A former student in my Chemistry class now owns a steel fabrication business and he kindly cut the angles on a variable angle power hacksaw in return for a few "stories". The crossmember fit beautifully and so I had a driveshaft safety "U" welded to the bottom of the crossmember in case I ever want to drag race this car (unlikely). The emergency/parking brake cables are to a Gennie parking brake that looks like the original Model-A E-brake, but now I wish I had used a flat floor handle E-brake for more space in the cockpit. This was installed in February in a cold garage and it took me three tries to realize that rattle can enamel performs badly at less than 60 degrees F. This nightmare was not fixed until later warm weather. The droopy brake cable from the left rear wheel will be supported up away from the drive shaft using a rubberlined clip-bracket attached to the underside of the floor when the body is on the frame.· Date: · Views: 5,434
