My Rat Build

Finished up capping the rear section of the cab and started on the windshield post today. Had to rebuild one and will have to do some repairs on the other.:eek:

I know I started out building a rat rod but with all the fixing and cutting and rebuilding the body it's turning into a hot rod instead it seems. But thats ok too.:3dSMILE: I guess its all the years of doing body work that has me fixinig rust and replacing metal in it. Some habits are hard to break....:LOL:

Anyway here's a couple more pic's of the progress.

ps: I did score some more gas Dave......:) 200lbs in the other tank didnt go far today.

A refresher on some patch work. Nasty rust in window/dash area before and after.

Started capping the windshield frame also. The joggle (step) in the end of the piece is to accept the next piece of metal making a smoother transition.

I doubt it.:( At the rate I build I will be lucky to have it on the road in another year.

Actualy I started building this thing for my grdkids.:HMMM: The oldest wont be 16 for another 7 years so hopefully I will get to drive it a couple years before he/they gets it but the rule is it stays at my house and each one can borrow it when they like.:LOL::D

I wish I could say I thought of this but I didnt and cant take credit for it.

I ran across this idea somewhere on another site and thought this is great, a big money saver so I knew I was going to make a roadster from my cab so why not use the window frames for a grille shell.

We built the roadster 14 years ago. I do have some pictures. I'll PM you. Your pictures looked some much like ours. I like your windshield, too.
