Gee, I must live right or something!!!
When I built the chassis for the roadster pickup, I scrounged up a fruit jar style master cylinder from my "old parts bin", and ordered a weld-in under floor mounting bracket and brake pedal. I measured for adequate clearance, and installed an auxillary 1 1/2" square tube crossmember just behind the master cylinder, flush with the top of the frame. As things have progressed, I had a fit of sanity, and decided to do the wise thing, and order a new dual reservoir master cylinder. It just came yesterday, and as soon as I seen it, I got this sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach----look at how much longer that dual reservoir unit is. Well anyway, I just ran out to my ice cold garage and slid under the car on my creeper, and guess what!!! The new master cylinder clears the crossmember by about 1/2", and I can still get the top off to fill it.---Put that one down to good luck, not good management.Old guy hot rodder
Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
