I've found that by using my tig rods with my mig welder to fill holes in the body panels works great!I find by pulsing the mig when welding still can burn more holes in the metal.but by adding a tig rod it acts as a heat sink and fills the bigger holes without a backer piece of metal pretty good.Does anyone use this method ?????

I've done it before! it works very well!! especially on sheet metal with a large gap!!
If you turn your mig way down till it just melts the wire you can fill huge holes . Back your work with a copper sink and fill away.
I have done this with a stick welder,using gas rod or other arc rod.
Havent had to do it in my garage yet but have done it at times at work to fill a gap that was to big on some thin racks that I had to build for mazda. The pieces I had to weld together came into the shop pre cut but looked like they were cut my a monkey that were so mis matched so had to be "creative" to fill those gaps!
