Well guy's.... I never thought I would be saying this but I think I just may be getting a Ford. Here is the story...
My old metals manufacturing teacher told me a few months back that he was thinking of selling his Ford truck to buy a work truck to use to haul things and all so he doesnt' mess this one up. He doesn't know much about old trucks or cars and asked me what I thought he should sell it for or how much it's worth. I told him around 5000-6500 bucks or so, maybe 4500 that it all depends. Now I am looking for a truck (and can't wait on this 53 any longer) and need something that is ALL READY to go on the road with NO work needed. I am not sure of the year (yeah you can tell I don't know nothing about Fords) but I know it has a 302 and it's (I THINK) a 1965 or 66 Ford F 100 fleet. He said he got it about 4 years ago from a guy that drag raced it a little and drove it sometimes. It has a 302 in it though, he said aftermarket pistons and 3 speed. It used to be on the floor but he put it back on the column for god knows why. There is NO rust on the thing and paint is still good and interior is really nice, etc. I just put in a new steering box for him and all it needs are shocks because he said they are starting to wear but not real bad. I don't know if I forgot to say anything else... Oh yeah he isn't sure of the miles because when he had it rebuilt I guess they didn't return the milage but the metals shop is right next door to the auto tech shop I am in so I am going to pressure test it. He said it doesn't have much at all but not exactly sure on the miles and he only drives it to work here and that's about it.
I told him maybe I may buy it but most likely no because I don't have no 5,000 to buy anything and he said that if I am looking into it then he will give it to me for 2,500.
What do you guys think on this? There are no problems with it at all (except it's a Ford haha) so that will be good.
I think that I am DEFINETELY getting a steal on this. He is bringing it to my house this weekend for me to test drive and everything and I am getting more info on it on Thursday and maybe will go pressure test it then.
He also changed the 4 barrel out and but a 2 barrel back in it and I think he said for gas or something. If I get this then I think I will leave it for now and then when I need new tires I will just change the stock rims and put nice wider ones on since these are pretty skinny and ugly looking and then when I go to change the shocks I will change the springs and get dropped ones, etc. I don't plan to put much money into it unless I NEED to like if something breaks I will change with aftermarket and better looking instead of just throwing some OEM stock thing back on.

Alright well sorry for the book I just wrote I am all done.
Here is a link to basically what it looks like but it is dark metallic green and I think this is the year since it looks the same with the hood, grill and body lines.... http://adcache.collectorcartraderonl...9/78571099.htm

Thanks for any info on this too if you have any and comments.
