Power steering on a 235?
Hey all, I just bought a 1954 chevy 1/2 ton pickup with the original 235 engine which runs great. I am going to keep the engine but I want to change to power steering. Is there a kit out there with a bracket that will mount to the engine for the power steering pump? Ohh yea, the truck has a straight axle front end on it if that matters.
Thanks,
Jamie

1960 chevy impala had 235 with power steering,,,so it cant be that hard to swap over.
And make sure those King Pin bushings are in good shape,,,take it to an older alignment shop where the guy's know what they are doing. "No disrespect intended to the younger guy's""I don't know everything and i like it that way"

Jamie, did you look at www.chevyduty.com www.chevsofthe40s.com (yeah that has 50's truck parts)? Check that out. I read on that to change to power steering and I think what I read said something about getting most of the parts you need for these trucks out of a C 10 but I do not remember what all it was you can use from the C 10.
Good luck!www.streamlineautocare.com
If you wan't something done right, then you have to do it yourself!
My grandfather, mom's side, drove a 39 Plymouth coupe when I was about 4 or 5 and I thought it was pretty cool and I loved the tail fins on the 49 Cadillac. I drew cars when I was in the 5th and 6th...
How did you get hooked on cars?
