Follow up on Ranger conversion to 302
So, a heavier transmission is in order....what do you recommend? Manual or Auto? Is there a fit issue?

"Manual or Auto?"
A matter of personal choice.
"Is there a fit issue?"
With a Sawzall, blue-tip wrench, hand grinder and a MIG, there's never a fit issue.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

Right now my focus is on my 36 coupe...however I have given some thought to converting the old splash V6 to a V8, jazzing up the interior and giveing it a new coat of paint...Just a weekend driver and occasionally we take it on short road trips...It currently is hooked to a five speed, but I'm hearing I need to go to a heavier transmission...While I do admit to putting my foot into the splash on occasion, I won't be making any appearances at the quarter...
I'm thinking a manual would be less expensive and therefore given this is not my main project, the manual may be the better choice....
Visited a family member at Dockery Ford from the time I was 1 year old through their ownership and then ownership change to Morristown Ford. Dockery was a major player in the Hi Performance...
How did you get hooked on cars?
