tonebro,
If you're looking to keep your Ford "all Ford" then you might want to look into a Mustang IFS. It will give you better handling, suspension, and a lowered look. You can also get dropped spindles, but they cost a bit. If you're building a rod and you don't mind using other makes for parts (Mopar Chevy), then look into a complete rolling frame from a Chevy S-10. They got 3 wheelbases 108", 117", and 122". It comes with IFS, PS, PB, front discs, and it's already lowered, all in one neat package. I had this same problem with my 52 Ford...It would have been endless trips to the junkyards, aftermarket products totaling in the $$$thousands, and weeks of late nights in the garage. I opted for the Chevy S-10 frame...One trip to the junkyard, one week end of work, total cost...$300.
Something to think about...52 Ford F-1, 327 Chevy, S-10 frame
