If I lived in your part of the world I would think Jag http://www.geocities.com/hotrodder1938/chopper.html .
I don.t know which frame and shocks you have. I have a 36 and 37 pontiac 4 doors in the shop the 36 is original and has the knee action suspension, according to my older brother they rode good in their day when they were new but the shocks didn't last very long and were difficult to rebuild. the 36 pontiac has straighter frame rails than the 37 If the your olds is similar to the 36 pontiac an aftermarket mustang II design with tubular arms and 11 inch disc brakes is probably the easiest way to go the 37 pontiac frame bumps out in the front spring area most people replace the front frame section to use a mustang II design. the bolt onto the spindle conversion still use the original shocks which can be a problem to rebuild. good luck
I think I will go for the Mustang II front end. It seems to be the easiest way.
