How can I tell if my electric fan is drawing too much current.

Ahhhh you guys didn't say a *NO LOAD* starter... <sniff> I believe that, no-prob--lem-oh.

lt1s10 I have stuck my $380 DC clamp on amp meter on and watched it hit 1,580A in amazement. That is why the hulk has two batteries and the cables are the diameter or your index finger. But this is a diesel with 21:1 compression. I was only making the point that a starter draws way more than 90A *when doing useful work* not realizing you ment unloaded. :)

if any body on this board that has a 350 chev. stock motor pulling more than 250 amps you need a starter. most motors thats in good shape pulls around 150 amps. you can not have a 600 CCA bat with 1000 amp draw on it every time you start it. when you load test a bat. 120 amp draw is what they use and that will kill a good bat. in a few min. :HMMM:
