front windows

For my 38 chevy pickup I need a(n) new front window(s).
It normally opens and has an metal frame around it.
My plan is to remove the opening mechanism and also remove the window frame. That way i can create larger windows.
I want to glue the window in the outer gap so that it is smooth with the body.

The problem is, the dash is screwed from the window side. That problem can i solve.

Another thing is that I don’t want to see metal or so from the interior when looking true the glass. That is why i need an black edge around that window. And of cours it needs to be custom made.

My question is can this be done, and is this wise to do so.

Any good glass shop can do what you want. Finding one that's willing to break out of the "bread and butter" mold might take some looking on your part. If you make the pattern you might increase your odds. I use masonite (1/8" tempered hardboard).

That's wat I also planned to do, make an model from hardboerd.
The hard part would be the black edge that is also needed to bond the glue.

A good glass shop would have that too, as well as the T-molding to seal the outer edge.

At least i know now that the idea isn't that bad.
