FINALLY....and (HEY AL..READ THIS)
OK....I ramped the car and chceked everything out.
1) The ground from the battery directly to the starter motor is a perfect connection at the motor.
2) All wires at solenoid and motor connections are fine as well.
NO LOOSE CONNECTIONS.
SO I:
1) Cleaned off oxidation at starter ground connection on battery teminal (batt has 2 grounds running: 1 to frame and 1 to starter).
2) Found major corrosion inside plugs that connect to the 'voltage restistance relay'....cleaned thoroughly back to metal on metal.
So that about sums it up. If I need to get into things like the ignition wires that trip the solenoid from the ignition side of things,...I have no idea where to look.
Any chance the corrosion on the voltage resistance relay makes any sense?.....or Hopefully the starter ground at the batter. The cable looks to be in great shape all the way under....to the starter as well.
Oh well,...gonna go test her out....and see what it does.....
Probably take some time though,...as it's so intermittent.
