Chrome removal...?
I have a Model A I'm building and had a quick question about removing the chrome on the original instrument panel. I'd like to have it powder coated as the original chrome is cracked and peeling off. Anyone have any suggestion? Thanks in advance for any help!

If you have a chrome shop near you, they can do a reverse electrolysis procedure on the parts and remove the remainder of the chrome so that you can have them powder coated.

Thanks Tech, do you think it would be better to go back with rechrome or the power coat? I like both so I guess the cheaper would be OK. From your past experience, which one do you think would give me the cleanest finish and do you have any idea what the cost would be? I've ask the local pw guy and he's real evasive about giving me a price quote. Since we don't have a chrome shop here anymore I don't have any idea what that would cost. Thanks again!

once you have it in the doors of the chrome shop, it would undoubtedly be cheaper to just have them polish it and rechrome it after stripping. Unless the same shop also powder coats.. It's really up to you, whaddaya want?
