Hi Room - am building a '46 ford 2dr sedan -(rod) and would appreciate any info on inside firewall/dash mounted brake pedal and bracket that will most easily fit this application - want to bolt to power booster and disc/disc reservoir on firewall. (I don't have room in frame under the floor) many thanks in advance - charlyg
Trying to remember a '46 Charly, I think you will need some fairly long pedals???? Check out some pick up hanging pedal units next time you are yardin'. Measure your car first to get an idea on the pedal length that would work best.
On my 37 Dodge PU I found a hanging assembly that fit under the dash well from a mid 70s Dodge truck.
Like Dave said I needed a longer peddle. I just cut the arm out of a piece of 1/2" plate I had laying around. I probably could have used 3/8", but I have a tendency to overbuild.
I think street rodder mag had an article on the fat fender ford hanging pedal and they cut and rewelded the fire wall it looked like a lot of work/ i am a scrounger and always tried to find an oem stuff that would fit , make cardboard templates and go to the bone yards that have some of the older cars, trucks vans
