need some leaf spring bushing help
ok i knocked out my old bushings and started to put my new ones in and theyre in about halfway on both sides of my truck but i cant get them in any farther. i sanded them down and lubed them up and they went in then i tried heating up the spring and that didnt help either. i dont have any air tools or an oxyacetylene torch. anyone have any suggestions?

You might try using a brake cylinder hone on the spring eyes to get them smoothed out again. A bit of honing on the spring eyes and some white lube usually helps the installation process.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

is there a auto parts store near you alot of them have presses and they'll press them in for you if you can get them there. I've never had to pay for this but you might have to pay a couple of bucks. good luck

the leafs are still on my truck. im about to cut off whats sticking out grind it down and stick them in the side thats empty

Like Dave said, hone the bore out, then put the bushings in the freezer for a couple of hours. Lube them up with while Lithium, and put them in quickly before they warm up and expand.

Being as I'm not there to see this and by what you just said The springs are still on the car. I'd bet your just hitting the bushing. Most of the impact is being wasted with out proper back up. You might try a ball oint press you can rent them for a few bucks a day. Or get somthing to back up your swing that is much bigger than the hammer your using.Good luck
