I am in need of a 9 inch gearset with a 3:25 gears, When iI go the auto yard how can I ellimiate or choose possible cannidate cars/trucks? I know you can check the axle tags and door post decals but it sure would be nice to narrow the search.

This is not always true ,BUT if you pick the big crusiers linclon, and marks, and the like they usualy have those ratios.
Marks and T-Birds will usually have 2.80's or 3.00's in my experience.
Thanks, will be looking this weekend, makes sense now that
I think about it, the heavier the car the more gear it will need.
alot of trucks have 2.65 and 3.08 some vans have 3.50 3.50 and lower gears are hard to find
I've got a 3.25 open in the garage, make me an offer, just hold on to your butt when you see the shipping charge, them buggers are heavy!!! (also have a couple of 3.0's and a 2.73)
