Just wondering:confused: what the concenses is on having a crossover pipe in your exhaust system?
i have done some custom 3 3 1/2 4 inchs ex with the X cross. i think if you have room i would put one in. gives the car a sound that is very unique and they say you can pickup some torque
Personaly I have only herd good things about using a cross over pipe.Like Pat said though ,if you have the space.
The consensus is that they add to low end torque and reduce restriction. They also do add that rather nice sound. If you have room, do it.
I will have to put the body back on to see if there is room above the dr shaft:HMMM: ??? Don't want it below. Maybe I could make that my driveshaft loop:eek: :D
hey if i get time i will take a snap shot of mine i hang the x cross off the drive shaft loop works geat i will post it on tuesday nigth. it may help you get some ideas
Thanks any help is good
ok then i will post it
My coupe's channelled, so I had to run a crossover under the driveshaft. The pipe is still above the transmission pan.

I see you put flanges so you could drop one side without the other. You saved me some thinking there and probably some cussing later
Thanks
Yep, and I have a computer program that shows you how to cut the fishmouths to mate the pipes together. I can send it to you if you want.

- Right click on the link above.
- Click on "Save target as"
- Decide where you want to save it (desktop, maybe)
- Click "Save"
It's an exe program, and your virus program may not like it, but it's safe at this site.
Making it work . . .
Restrictions:
- The mitered tube needs to be equal to or less than the main tube diameter
- The angle the tubes meet must be 90 or less
Determine the following dimensions:
- Mitered tube diameter
- Mitered tube wall thickness
- Main tube diameter
- Included angle (The angle the tubes meet)
- Write down all those dimensions, then convert to millimeters by multiplying by 25.4 (except the angle - it's the same in English and metric)
To run the program:
- Double click on it.
- Click on "File"
- Click on "Settings"
- Enter your measurements, then click on "OK"
- You will see a curvy line drawn on your screen.
- Print that line and cut it out (the solid line, not the dashed line)
- Wrap it around the tube to be mitered and tape it in place.
- Mark around the paper with a magic marker
- Using a saw and grinder, trim to the line. A couple of cuts with a hacksaw or jigsaw and a little grinding works fine.
Done
Jack
Thanks
When I used to install ammonia refrigration units we had a set of these made up for different size pipes I had forgotten all about them.
Thanks again
is is my 4 inch in my gto i did about six years ago it was made from all bends from a truck store with a x cross and it is hangs off my drive shaft loop .i made the hanger out of a top bushing from a stud top shock and a bolt that all .works great. it hangs off the tails to. it is all welded solid no clamps
and here is one more
4" you figuering on runing pistons through there?**) That looks good it appears you simesed the pipes? Did you have trouble finding the pipes?
my pistons are 4.600 bore and soon to be 4.625 so they will not go thru the pipe:LOL: but have been thinking of shooting grapefruits out them:3dSMILE:on the pipes. it was pickup at the truck store i whip this out in a day. i built ex for hot rods and drag cars and headers to. i have done some wild stuff
