1969 351W Pulleys

Well I am putting in a 69 351W in my 66 F100 and it has double grooved crank pulley on it now and a single at the top on water pump but it doesn't stick out far enough to get ONE single belt on to the alternator. This pulley setup is for a power steering pump and setup which I will not be putting on. Does anyone have or know where I can get single grooved pulleys for the water pump AND the crank that will line up to the alternator? The alternator sticks out a inch passed the water pump one now. It was set up like this.... One belt went around the crank and alternator, the other went around the other groove in the crank, the power steering pump AND the water pump....
I hear the 69 pulleys are different than 70's and up 351 weezers....

I moved my alternator to the left side, made my own brackets and just run a single belt.......oh yeah, had to lengthen the harness that goes to the alternator, too.

What harness? Is yours a 69 351w? Pics? I really want to keep it stock and just get the belt and pulleys. I have had my motor out and the 66 off the road for too long now. Been off for 2 months and should have taken me only a week to put in the motor. I am having so many problems and getting sick of it... I work on other peoples cars all day and come home and dont want to work on my own anymore and so when I run into problems like this I dont even feel like making something like you mentioned, etc. I'd rather go broke and spend the money and not the time. lol Guess that is what happens when you try to make a living working at a shop... you make very little money and no time.

Yup Shawn, now you know why some of us are so dang slow on our own projects!!!! Guess I don't know what the difference would be on a 69 to anyother 351W's..... Maybe just order a set of pulleys?? Or maybe find a non power steering pickup with a Windsor in your favorite pick a part and get the pulleys off of it? I have a bunch of Windsor pulleys laying around, if you could measure the water pump pulley and let me know how much set back you need from the front to the pulley groove I'd be glad to look.... I'll get you a pic of my setup if I'm out by the pickup today..... By "harness" I meant the wire's that go to the alternator.....

Those non power steering pulleys are kind of hard to find so you might be able to space the alternator out some so you can use the grooves that was for the power steering,I have a extra set of those pulleys but they are not for sale and I am going to a junkyard saturday and will look for more. Jeff

Yeah see I hear they are hard to find... Dave either tomarrow or next week I will measure it up and see what I can do... I will measure from the back of the pulley to the back or inside of the groove (not the front). Or how do you think I need to measure that so we are both on the same page here?

When you're at the boneyard, see if you can find a serpentine setup off a '80 or so engine, and get a shorter belt that fits without the PS and smog pumps from NAPA or someone. Thats what I did with my 351 in a '79 Mustang and its worked for 60K miles.

Should work fine, Shawn. I'll get a pick of the way I set mine up. The Pope has a good suggestion, too. The serpentine setup would be double kewl......
