Power hop question

Hey all,
My 67 Camaro has single leaf springs and I am told this is the primary reason it is hopping so badly when I try to hit it hard from a standstill. Just finished the engine (327) a few months ago and replaced the open dif with an eaton posi. All is running great except for this obvious and potentially dangerous problem. My question: What options do I have to eliminate this issue? As usual, cost is somewhat of a concern but I will not half-ass it either.

Swap out the single leafs, or go the traction bar route. For the street a set of slapper bars will work.

i've got a shock mounted to the diff. housing and to the chassis on my S10 that works ok for me. i'm not really hard on it though. it works like a steering damper. :cool:

Thanks for the quick replies. If I were to swap out is there another model/year of car that I should look for or would have to be new equipment? Would the traction bars be used with the single leafs or with beefier ones that were swapped out?

Hey let me know what your final decision is and how it works out for you. I've got traction bars on my '67 Camaro and they sit really low. I've got a 2" drop kit from Hotchkis, and my traction bars are almost touching the ground. I've been trying to figure out another route to go. I puchased the camaro the way it sits right now, but I'm not looking forward to driving with the traction bars inches off the ground.

i see no one like my shock idea. its a "chev. fix" for the hop problem. i used all that other stuff and this fixed it. its out of the way and its works. :cool:
