puts stress on the axles and will twist them off, not to mention they will get squirley on turns or wet pavement. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

A spool locks both rear tires together like a go-kart axle. They work great at the drag strip, but are a nightmare on the street where you have to go around corners. The word "differential" that is used on most all cars from the factory means that the left and right side tires can go around a corner at "different" speeds (the outside tire has to travel further than the inside tire), so the tires will not scuff. Using a spool on corners will put tremendous stress on the tires, wheels, axles and suspension components, plus the tires will squeal on every corner. Trust me, you wouldn't like it.
If you want to equalize traction on the street, go with an aftermarket differential (pig) like Auburn or Detroit Locker. There are a bunch of these units available, I've just named a couple. Do a search for locker differential.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.
