Fuel cell
Ok, this might be a dumb question, but is there any reason I can not mount a fuel cell sideways (left to right, not on its side) on one side of my trunk?
Right now it is sitting right in the middle of my trunk, but there is plenty of room for me to swing it sideways and mount it off to one side, thereby freeing up the bulk of my trunk space.
I was just going to dump the cell, but the guy I got the car from tossed out the original tank, and even one from the classic car junkyard is $275.00, so I have to make do with what I have.
It would be nice to get a spare back in the trunk, and build a nice carpeted cover for the fuel cell so it does not look just stuck in there.
Thanks!

There's all types of fuel cells,if your fuel pickup is on top, there's probably a hose fastened to it on the inside going to the right rear corner of the cell. this you could turn 90 degrees and not greatly affect fuel flow. If it is encased in metal, you could cut an opening and drop it straight down, with the top flange bolted to the floor, watching for ground clearance of course. It woud be good to form something around it to support and protect the bottom. Hank
