One rear wheel on the F-1 I brought home for parts is bound up. I thought no problem, pull the drum, well it is gone already. The drive shaft spins, but the thing is bound up pretty good, what else could it be.

Siezed wheel bearing?
Broken, broking, broke!!Drive shaft spins freely and no tire move=busted, busting, busteyed   Axel that is....probably from a frozen wheel bearing....Does the other free tire spin from the drive shaft or just spin independent of the drive shaft?
If one wheel spins when the driveshaft rotates, it could be that the other wheel bearing is frozen. The axle doesn't have to be broken to make that happen, assuming it's not a positraction.
Ahh ,I did not know that..:o ....thnx!!I have found a book covering what your working on is invaluable.Sounds like you need to start taking it apart at the frozen side and see what the malfunction is.
I have another rear axle to use, I just want to free this one up so I can use it to roll the cab around the shop. I guess I will just keep tearing stuff apart on that side until I find something dry and stuck!

Lots of penetrating fluid!!! May even look into fillin the rear end with diesle or sum sorta penetrting fluid and let it sit while you are workin on it.Some times tryin to budge sumtin gets trying on the nerves. Its real nice to have the time to let things soak and then it takes less effort and frustration to get er done!!Couple of weeks with diesle in it and it may free right up.
