Big foot too big.
Ever see that big chrome gas pedal on your favorite hot rod. Your thinking, Man that looks cool on that Hot Rod, it would probably look cool on my car! So you rush right out and buy one. You install it on your favorite car. Only problem is, you can't see that the carpet or the floor board is blocking the pedal travel.
So you drive away. After a while you notice a 50% reduction in your engines performance. You check the carb and clean it out good. You check your plugs, wires and ignition. No change, seems to be getting worse. You try to get someone to help you, but they don't know.
Finally, your friend, which happens to be a mechanic, asks if he can help you with your car. You explain to him whats wrong. You pull the hood, start the motor, step on the gas, and he tells you that something is wrong with the linkage. After a couple of minutes, you both realize that it is the Big chrome foot, that is stopping the gas peddle travel, because it is too big to fit in the area of the gas pedal.
Once the pedal is removed, you find that the engine is back to normal. You find all of that power you were missing.
It may look good on somebody elses stuff, but that doesn't mean it's for you.
The Big foot got to be too big, and caused some unforseen problems.
Visited a family member at Dockery Ford from the time I was 1 year old through their ownership and then ownership change to Morristown Ford. Dockery was a major player in the Hi Performance...
How did you get hooked on cars?
