I've seen "glass polishing" kits for sale...Eastwood, Ebay, NAPA, others.

I have a 3" long scratch in the wraparound back glass in my f100 from when the salvage yard loaded an engine for me (I was in the can when it happened, and they didn't bother to tell me about it). Does anyone have experience with this stuff??

New wraparound rear windows are not available for a '57 f100, it was apparently a rare option.

Glass shops have been using this type of equipment for years. It's really intended to remove fine scratches, like mild wiper scratches. It's a polish that's moderately agressive. If you scratch is that type, it should work for you. The drawback is that the point of polish usually ends up distorted, depending on how agressively it had to be polished. For your back glass that would be less of an issue.

I will try the glass polishing, but the kit is a little pricey $$$, so It may be two weeks before I get back with some results.**)

Hey, congrats "Senior" madgrinder. Don't take it to hard. But wait a minute, I thought everyone in Flordia was a SENIOR something!:D

Keep us posted on how the repair works. I have some minor scratching on the front glass of one of my cars and I'm thinking about having it fixed. Did ya get a cost estimate from a shop? How did it compare to the cost of the kits?
