how to wire reverse light

Hi
Have a 50 mercury with francis wiring and dakota digital dash. trying to figure out a way to wire reverse lights as they are not present. What can I tap off of to wire these? There is a dakota digital gear shift indicator but doesnt look like it is meant for wiring lights.

No the ron francis wiring box is not wired for reverse lights as I can tell so looking for other options.

car has 700r4 auto trans

so now how do i install that on the tranny? Please humor me and guide me a bit through it.

So noce installed..run a hot wire from ignition to the bracket just installed and then what another line to the reverse lights? I assume the reverse lights will go on when car is in reverse lol... not off a switch i have to press...
