alright i've found most of the parts for my project "build-up" i'm buying a 572 bare block and building it up. the last thing i want to do is to pop a nice fat blower on the top to really give it the hp, torque it thrives for but i don't know any reliable places to get a quality blower so if any of ya'll can help that would be great.
blowers are everywhere. do a search for Blower Serv. i've worked with them some. what are you planning to do with all that power?Quote:

Yup look at the blower shops or on ebay. How much do you know about blowers ?
The first thing you need to do is buy "A Do-it-yourself Guide To:Street Supercharging" by Pat Ganahl.This is a great book and it will help you with a lot of great info.It also has a Supercharger Buyers Guide in the back.:3dSMILE:
Blower Drive Service, Dyers, and Weiand are the first that come to mind. If you're looking for something bigger then a 6-71, then probably Mooneyham. Best to consult with the blower company you will be buying from before you make your selection on cam, pistons, and other components and go with their recomendations.... They will know what will live and what will make it a great big overpriced gernade!!!!!

In the very early '70s this company was the first to sell “Roots” type blowers for street application. They would mate a 6/71 blower to a 4 bbl manifold in the early days (non-Chevy engines). Soon they mated the blowers to tunnel ram manifolds. They would cut off the dual 4bbl top and weld on the blower manifold. What these guys have over the competition is they sell blowers for a wide range of engines. I had a Dyers on my street driven small block Ford for over a decade (65 Mustang Fast Back). I had many other show car owners tell me that the polish on the blower was the best they have seen. Great product, but I've never seen a Dyers on a serious track car.
I consider my blower purchase one of the best decisions of my life. I really enjoyed it. The blower livened upped that small block.
Side note: The blower “whine” does not come from the internals of the elongated twisted rotors in the interior of the blower. It comes from air being trapped between the gilmer belt and pulley. So an under driven blower (bigger top pulley) would make more noise then a 1/1 or over-driven (smaller top pulley) blower.

I've been checking out the Dyers blower auctions on eBay; they seem to have nice stuff and reasonable prices.

I built my first blower setup with help from that book.:D Ended up buying a blower from a diesel shop and doing the machining myself.My latest is a mooneyham with teflon seals and have been very happy with it.I don't think you can go wrong with any of the big names.
With those cubes you'll need an 8-71 at least. BDS sells a complete setup for BBC's.
