what is it??
Hello all
I need some help identifing a part that came with my 41 dodge.
Ive been told its a "drop " ,used to lower the front end .
It has written on it 41-58 mopar and .400.
Theres a few brackets brass bushing and 4 bolts that have been machined .
Is this a box of junk or is this a kit??.
thanks

I'm not real familiar with old Dodge's, from what I remember it looks like it could be a set of uprights for the steering. The big black parts look like they could be where the kingpins attach the spindles to the suspension?????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Yep, I agree with Dave. Looks like the upright to which the spindles mount. Climb under your car and see if anything looks similar, and compare it to see if it is designed to drop it down maybe. The flat plates are probably shock mounts, as the shocks would need to mount higher to compensate for the newly lowered position.
I think this goes between the upper and lower control arms. Chevy's of that era used a similar mount.

Yeah,That looks like a very well made kit to drop your original front suspension, but I would have two problems with using it,(1 )It doesn't upgrade your steering or braking (2) I won't use welded up parts in my suspension. I have a friend with a 40 dodge, and he went with a moparfront end out of a volare or diplomat,I forget which. Hank
I can't remember a singular event that triggered this nuttiness so I'll say it was being born. After we moved from Kansas to Chicago (I was 5 then) we'd drive back down each summer to visit the...
