Model A Donors
Ok weather is getting close to breaking. I'm putting this A together with all ford parts if i can . The following i would like to ole skool from donor's . I need some experience on Model A to help take some guess work out of it . To refresh i have a 1984 5.0 and a 90 GT T-5 trans with a 1970 cougar 9 inch. Brake and clutch pedals from a 67 Mustang .
Question #1 is what Ford Model car would be the best Master cylinder donor for a firewall mount . Will there be a specific size i should be looking for. I will be running Disc/Disc on it . I may also go with the power but not yet sure on the clearence to engine the booster may present or what diameter if i do add one. Ive seen the one's for sale but chioce is a donor. I did some reading on pedal ratio so i dont for see a problem on any choice . Maybe a complete set from a Mustang with brake and clutch pedals .
Question #2 steering columns. I have also read that some have been using the FWD version because of it's shorter length in the tube . Heard these are in the low 23inch to 25 inch range. This brings the steering rod out at angle in the firewall before the exhaust becomes a issue ?
Question #3 has anyone used the original ford shorties that came with the 5.0 . I did a hold and fit and it looks like the collector angles down at the right point near the firewall . I'm not really sure on this one though.
We managed to get a couple of other small things taken care of. One was blacking out the front of the core support. When the sun hit the front of the car just right that green paint on the core...
