On my 37, I had run the exhaust pipes through my roll pan but now am going to re route them again. I want to fill in the two 5" holes and want to know whichj is the best way to do so.

I don't know if its best or not but I'd cut steel larger than the holes flange the pices set them in the opening weld them in the grind and fill with bondo. sand prime paint. :eek: Now if it were only that easy.:LOL: :LOL: :LOL: , but that is what I'd do.
you can curve some sheetmetal patches in a vise and get pretty darn close to the contour you need. start in the middle of your piece, bend gently,then move your work 1/8-1/4" at a time continuing gently. take your time & check fit often for minimum grinding & bondo
I can't tell from the picture if the roll pan has plain holes cut into the sheet metal for your exhaust tips, or if there is a flange around the openings to strengthen things. If there is a slight flange there, I would not cut it out. I would cut sheet metal to a size that would 'fit perfectly" into the openings, set the patches in place, recessed about 1/8" from the surface, then mig weld them all around using the "tack and cool, then more tack till its continuous" method. Use glass fiber impregnated waterproof filler to fill things till it was close to smooth, then finish it off with standard filler.----the reason for not cutting out the flanged area is that the flanged area will add a lot of strength to keep things from warping when you fill the holes.---Brian
