Ok I have a 51 Chevy with a 350 in it:D . The problem is that after running the car for a while and I shut it off and try to start it up again, it won't start,:mad: it cranks over but no go. Does anyone know what could be causing this?:CRY:
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yeah it cranks over normally, just like when cold but won't start
Starts right up when cold though
I checked both of those last night and both were good, also its a new carb I just put on, but its done this before even with the old carb
Ok sorry for taking so long to reply but I could'nt get into the page but anyways,
I found out that the #8 plug wasn't firing and I just got done doing a tune up but now I have another problem.
I am getting a loud kind of grinding, clanking, grating noise while its running.
I pulled the starter off and had it tested at autozone and it passed. Also I don't see any kind of metal shavings or missing teeth on the starter or flywheel, so at this point I am pretty much mind boggled
Ok just looked at the flywheel again and it has a small wobble to it. Also there is some fresh looking metal on one portion of it, could this be my grinding noise?

Also is the torque converter supposed to be bolted up to the flywheel or just spin freely, because it isn't bolted up and it looks as if it used to have bolts in it?
The converter needs to be bolted to the fly wheel....
Okay bolted up the flywheel and shimmed the starter, not getting anymore clanking noises, but will not hold a steady idle in drive under 900 RPM's

Ooh... I didn't think of that, not sure the specs on the cam, all I know is that is a high torque cam, hopefully that helps...
Hmmm... Yeah I have no clue on the specs of the cam but I do know that it has a 3500 stall converter on it
