I hope to use the mc/booster from a '97 camaro on my '35. Both cars are four wheel disc brakes. What do I need to do to be able to mount it under the floor? I need a new brake pedal assembly for a floor mount right? Anything else to think about?
Also I plan to use the stock camaro gas pedal and hydraulic clutch pedal. I have all stock parts so I am hoping this should be about as easy as reinstalling the parts on the '35 as they were on the camaro? thanks
With the brake cylinder under the floor, you need 2# residual pressure valves (RPVs) in the front and rear lines. You also need a proportioning valve (PV) in the rear brake line. The RPVs stop the fluid from draining back to the MC from the wheel cylinders. The PV allows you to adjust braking pressure at the rear to keep the rear wheels from locking up first.

Thanks for the quick reply...I knew some of that, but hadn't really even thought that far. I'm more wondering if using the camaro mc/booster itself is as simple as attaching a brake pedal for under floor mounting (instead of the stock firewall mount pedal). I have seen 35-40 brake pedal assemblies and assume that would be a "standard" 35-40 part for any under floor mounted mc? thanks again!
You can get stock MC brackets and modify them slightly for the power booster. I just finished the brakes on my Willys and I used a vette MC. The one with double reservoirs and a 7" power booster. I have limited ground clearance or I would have used an 8" or double booster.
Your 35 will weigh more than the Willys so I'd go with a 1" bore double resrevoir MC and an 8" aftermarket power booster. This stuff pretty much bolts together. There are spring kits now that make sure your pedal returns all the way. If it doesn't you will get a boost that may cause the brakes to drag.
Otherwise 2# residuals front and rear and adjustable proportioning valve are pretty standard on 4wh discs.
Also consider a remote fill for the MC as it will be under the seats I think. Mine is. I have a trap door and slide the seat all the way back to check or fill. I used a vacuum bleeder too.
I had planned to use the stock Camaro swinging pedal assembly, but I don't want a firewall mount booster/mc. I figured it would be no problem using the stock clutch and gas pedal, removing the brake pedal and replacing it with an under floor pedal. That way I could use the hydraulic clutch assembly, but someone told me I should use both under the floor or both swinging...any reason for that?
Looking at under floor power brake/hydraulic clutch assemblies I found 1 for $530?...I was hoping to save some money using Camaro parts though and I don't know how the clutch would work w/o stock parts. Any thoughts?
