We have all seen the SBC in to the Jag and the SBC in to the 240/280 Datsuns.
I have a customer that has a 2001 5 series BMW that has an almost perfect body wise but the engine had a knock in it.
He also has a 500hp 383 SBC that I built for him this past summer for a different project.
He would like to swap his SBC into the 5 series BMW.
Anyone know of any kits out there??
No kit that I know of, but I have seen the swap done with both a Chevy and Ford V8 engine and a overdrive automatic for each. Get a set of generic motor mount plates from Competition Engineering, or the Hot Rod Shop and go for it.

I can't remember the name of the shop, but a long time ago (late 1980's) in West Battleborough Vermont, they did SBC swaps in to 318i's and 320's. Can't see any reason why a 5 series swap would be any different, other than dealing with getting the german electronics to cooperate with the GM engine harness.
