Fuel Tank Replacement
Has anyone dealt with a company called "TANKSinc." ? My fuel tank on my "46" just got two pinholes and when I pulled the tank it was loaded with rust. I'm sure the metal is paper thin in spots so I'm just going to replace it. They don't make a replacement for my vehicle so I'm looking at a universal tank. I just want to know if anyones bought from them and how the quality of their items are.

Never heard of them, but that's not saying they aren't legit..... IMO a car like the Bentley is deserving of a custom fabricated tank matching the original dimensions as close as possible...... Have you checked Hemmings for a replacement tank?????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

TANKS sells to several restoration companys for American cars but I doubt they'll have anything for a '46 Bentley. However, check w/ them, they just might. also check with carquest or Napa, you'd be surprised at what they can get.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Geez take it a radiator place that is part of the gas tank ReNu franchise that renews tanks with lifetime guarantees http://www.gastankrenu.com/ and ask them if it is repairable or not. They certainly wouldn't say yes if they figured it was gonna crap out in a couple years due to being too thin. There is no substitute for cubic inches

Thanks for the suggestions for fuel tank replacement. I did take the tank to a Re-NU franchise and got a quote and decided to look around some more. I found a place called Alumiworx who will build a custom Aluminum tank for me for a very reasonalble price. I will post pictures when I receive it on the site.

Thanks for the input John, I had ordered a tank from them last week after searching the net and talking to the owner. I ordered a tank from Alumiworx and will post pics of my old and new tank when it arrives. Thanks for the input.
We managed to get a couple of other small things taken care of. One was blacking out the front of the core support. When the sun hit the front of the car just right that green paint on the core...
