personally i use on my 66 fastback a viper alarm that plugs directly into my cars wiring harnes, has a few mounted sensors, detects locks opening, jolts, broken glass, the usual, i didn't install the siren though, but its got a pager with a very load alarm and a one mile range on it.... works great.... i also have lojack installed in my car..... spent well over $30k fixing her up, i wanna keep it.....just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

So how does the alarm know if the doors open. My 67 doesn't have a dome light that they can tie into to set door alarms to. What did you do?

73 you may have to put a plunger in the door frame where original went for light switch . When door is opened it activates alarm instead of dome light . Does it have any under dash courtesy lights left in it .

Sometimes the police are helpful with good alarm brands vs. bad. I like the pager idea, for when you take the car for overnight trips, or to car shows.
I also like a hidden kill switch or master fuse to slow the thieves down. I also like those wheel locks the police use on illegaly parked vehcles, takes longer to try and tow a car with one of those on it.

my alarm kills my fuel pump and ignition unless its properly deactivated...... you can also purchase a clutch lock that locks your clutch in the down position.... those work very nice.... they can still tow your car off.... but if they're really gonna take, they're gonna find a way anyways..... but thats what the lojack is for.... most people are luckier and dont live so close to mexico though..... once a car gets across the border..... its gone for good unless it happens to reappear in the US and still have the right vins..... in mexico if they have your registration paper thats as good as an actual title on the car.... whoever holds it owns it....just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day
