Is there an access hole in the drum itself instead of the backing plate? If the drums are new look for a line in the drum in the oval shape of an access hole. If you find one it might be a knock out that will have to be knocked out with a punch. I just built a chassis for a friends 37 chevy pick up and used his later model chevy rear end. The access hole was in the drum.
