37 Chevy frame
I'm new to Club Hot Rod, and am looking for some information! A friend of mine just purchased a '37 Chevy business coupe, that need's a frame. We are wondering if an S-10 frame will work? We are guessing the wheelbase to be about 112". Any info would be helpful. Thanks

NO....bad fit. Search for an original frame.

The wheel bases for an s10 are as follows:
Reg cab short bed: 108"
Reg cab long bed: 118"
Ex cab: 123"
crew cab 124"
I personally did an s10 frame swap with my 1950 chevy 3/4 ton truck and it worked perfect. If your application was a truck i would say go for it, but since it is a coupe i am not sure it will fit. The s10 frame is a tried and true base for many hot rods, so it might work if you shorten an s10 frame or something. Good luck!

Talked to hubby, he has built 3 1937 sedans and owned a coupe. Every one had Street Rod Engineering Mustang II Type front suspension and Street Rod Engineering Rear Parallel Leaf spring kit with chevy 10 bolt rear axle. He said your best bet is to find an original frame. Hope this helps

To use a s10 frame you have to remove & build a new raised floor in the rear.
I believe you lose 7" . This is not too bad in a truck where you have to raise the bed floor 7".
