are you talking old school or new school wheelstanders? here is a fantastic link to a webshots phot album of old school 70's and 80's stuff.

and here is a link to the modern stuff at Byrons raceway in Illinois. as far as specs that would take some phone calls unless you stumble on something on the net. Byrons is where they hold the wheelstanders nationals very popular there. If your thoughts are to build one watch some videos on youtube, takes a deep pocket book to crash, I mean run one of those.

So what's the problem? Just gut out a VW van and put the biggest engine you can afford as far back as you can. Instant wheelstander. Or you can buy my car.

bill "maverick" golden <little red wagon> has a myspace that he maintains go on there and give him a shout, his nephew also drives a wheelstander.
It depends on what type of brakes you are using but I'd take a look at sand buggy turning brake first. There are two different types. Hydraulic and E-brake cable type. I'm guessing Hydraulic would be the best.
