Once again, it's back in service. Seems to run pretty good and no issues as of yet. I hope I'm saying the same thing a month from now !1 Corinthians 1:27

Yeah what he said
Funny thing too......the SBC route was deemed so "cookie cutter" for a lot of years a lot of guys cringed when someone was building a project and decided to go that route. With all the LS swaps, I suspect in a few years seeing cars with a 1st Gen SBC will make the old guys like me feel nostalgic.

I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Very true, Mike. If I could go back to the beginning I would have either left the flathead or went with a different Mopar engine. This was the easiest and cheapest fix for where I was at; lesson learned for sure.1 Corinthians 1:27

One thing for sure, even a lower HP engine is a lot of fun with 4:11 gears and a four speed.1 Corinthians 1:27

Very nice work! You should be able to sell all the LS stuff pretty easily though. Plenty of people buying that stuff. HahaRyan

That looks great! Maybe you can make another little box in between the seats and put your cup holders there?

I've let this thread slip by. Looked through the last few pages. Sorry you had trouble with the LS. If I had it all to do over again on my car, I think I would have stuck with the SBC I already had. LS stuff is way too expensive if you can't use it as it comes out of the donor vehicle.
Looks like you'll be rolling soon. Still have some cruizin' time before the end of the season.Mike

Car has been running great since I did the engine swap so I’m happy. One issue I’ve been chasing is a parasitic battery drain. If you let the car sit for 3or 4 days; the battery went dead. I changed batteries, changed the alternator, and went through the harness but no luck. I ended up putting on a kill switch but decided to start over troubleshooting it. I finally found it! I bought this little alternator pigtail online and it came with a ring terminal on one wire that went to the battery terminal of alternator and the other wire went to ignition. I finally figured out they were switched and I had battery power constantly going to the ignition side. Switched them and problem solved! What a PIA!1 Corinthians 1:27

Good thing to get squared away. These nuisance problems drive me batty so I get how you were feeling.

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
