toyota steering box issue, anybody explain reason?
hey guys,
first off, I'm not in charge of steering on the hotrod, my uncle is handling it. what I do know is this, we put a stock ford pump on the 429, then got a steering box out of an 85' toyota 4x4. got a pitman arm??? anyways, whatever takes the steering box to the actual steering, with the toyota splines on one end and ford connector on the other. apparently this swap is done often.
anyways, got the truck fired up again yesterday but for some reason that thing will turn on its own till it hits the stop on one side, can't figure out why. anybody know? at this point my uncle is having me look for a replacement, what I'm wondering is what aftermarket unit might go in using the same setup so I don't have to modify the frame any more and make another bracket.
thanks guys.

Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
