Reversed spring eye will get you an inch or two, dropped axle would be the next thing but using the stock mechanical brakes gets a little dicey when you drop the axle. I also made my own cross member which move the spring up a couple more inches but I notched the frame out for the spring. I think I gained about 7-8 inches ( or lost I guess would be a better word). I am using a posies super slide spring from Speedway and I think it lays a little flatter than a stocker too.

Welcome to the forum. To really answer your question we need a lot more info. What kind of suspension is currently under it? What style car is it.......stocker? ........hot rod?........Wheels and tire type? How much drop do you want? Fenders or no fenders. Etc.
Post some pictures of the car and we can really start giving you good answers.

Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
