Priming oil pump?

Kitz I agree. Plus the long block was pressure tested and run with oil At the facility that built it so it's pretty oily right now. He said each cylinder tested to 200 lbs!
P.S. after finishing the above posts the mail arrived with the primer!

Back 20 years ago when I worked as a ambulance mech.
When ever we put a new oil pump in we would pack them
full of Vaseline. They would allways pick oil pressure up,
right away.

For the Ford that I've had to prime before initial startup (302, Y Blocks) I use a 1/4 inch drive, 1/4 inch deep socket (with extension) on the oil pump rod (down the distributor hole). Attach it to my 1/2 drill or I have done it by hand. You don't need any fancy tool, just remember to use tape in the socket to extension coupling.

YES that is the way i do them fords to . i allways put some lubriplate in the pump to:D
