Do I need all these vacuum lines?
I have a 71 Torino 302, just put an edelbrock performer 289 and edelbrock 600 cfm carb on it.
It starts fine but idles really high and has a very hard pedal. I am guessing that it is a vacuum line problem. Does the brake booster vacuum hose have to be alone or can it be on a tee?
How important are the other lines. There is one to the trans, and another smaller one to the brake booster.
Anyone know whereto get a schematic for the vacuum line? It might not do me any good with my aftermarket stuff.
Thanks
Eric

The vacuum hose to the brake booster should be on it's own fitting. The one to the transmission is necessary so it will shift, it goes to the vacuum modulator... Another one should be going from the carb to the distributor for the vacuum advance, and one from the base of the carb to the PCV valve....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
