Problems with Gennie Shifter Installation
I am installing a Gennie Shifter on a B&M 350 trans and I can't get it to position right with the transmission. If it is set up and adjusted in the "park" position the reverse position is not right, meaning the shifter does not hit the detent exactly and slips out of position. If it's adjusted in the "reverse" position the park position does not fully engage on the transmission, it needs to go back futher. It's as if the detent plate (gate) is off somehow, but I doubt it. The rest of the gear positions from neutral on down to low, seem okay. Gennie is not sure why and is sending another detent plate. With my luck, this ain't a-gonna be the answer. I have changed the positions of the arms, on the spline, moving the shifter on it's axis, etc. etc. Most of these positions only change the distance between the transmission arm and the shifter arm and does not change the geometry enough to allow the extra 1/4" or so that it is off. Could it be the B&M Transmission? Anyone ever had this problem? Thanks for any help.

These are usually a plug and play installation, not sure why you are having that problem. If the new Gennie parts don't fix it I would then call B &M and see what they think. Also, if you have another TH350 to compare it to you might want to try your shifter on it and see if it has the same problem or is ok.

Had a similar situation on a 4T60 with a B&M shifter. If the lever/arm on the trans has the wrong pin dimmention (from the sector shaft to the cable mount), the shift quadrents won't line up. How is the shifter in 2nd or low ? Could be the problem. D
