Anyone ever try to build a mustang II front end from scratch?
Something like Heidt's with out the shock tower.
If so please share some photo's and knowledge
if possible.
Wonder how well the motor mounts in these photo's would hold up to high horsepower?

By the time you buy spindles brakes springs shocks or coilovers,rack and pinion, then price some dom tubing you would be way ahead to buy one. Thats not to even think about getting the geomentry right.:confused:
Actually, the last 8 chassis' I built have used suspension pieces that I have built from scratch. Once you have the jigs made all there is left is the welding. I have never been quite able to justify in my mind the great expense of purchasing what can be built at home. After all Ford did the orignal designs not the current manufacturers. So copy a stock one, maybe improve the anti dive a little, use 3/16" DOM for the a-arms for strength and you just saved a ton of money.

I should be able to do myself. I have all the stuff to do it, so why not give it a try.
I can't see spending $500 dollers on a cross member I could build in 30 minutes.
I don't have the money to buy the front end set up, But I got all the shop stuff
to do it. Well thanks again. Kurt
A friend of mine years ago had another friend that bought a Mustang II front end. My friend took the cross member top hats A arms to his work place and had his men copy it. He had a pinto that he took everything else from, later he added bigger brakes but didn’t cost him too much at all. I guess he got a copy of a copy.

Oh if I knew someone close with this type set up, my wife would not see me for a couple of days. Because I wouldn't stop working till everything was made and welded into

Thanks now maybe I’ll get lucky and run into someone in Brandon, Florida that will let me stencil their whole front end.
Guess I’ll have to start checking all the cars at the car club meets every week.

From the transporters I hear from they are busy taking hot rods, and specialty cars to Florida, so maybe you can find someone. You may not have a white Christmas but you can have a Merry one, and a Happy New Year.
