305/350 questions
This is what I have and what I am trying to do. I have a 305 motor that is carburated. I am getting a 1989 5.7ltr TPI motor. I dont have the $ to do the conversion wireing and the fuel pump I will need so, I am putting a carb on it. I have the intake and carb, the distributer and the fuel pump for it. My question is will I need to change the fluid dampner (harmonic balancer)? If I do need to change the dampner (harmonic balancer), can I just swap the one off the 305 and use it? Thanks a ton for any info. Bill

I can't see any reason to change the harmonic dampener.

??
I was told the TPI motor will not have timing marks on the dampner. Is that incorrect? I have only worked on carberated motors so I have limited knowledge

Use a degree tape to degree the damper. Follow these instructions I wrote...

You may have to use a electric fuel pump . The 350 TPI might not be machined for a
mechanical fuel pump
