Need a rear end for my 37
I need a rear end for my 37 Ford truck project, I may run without a bed, I'll use a transverse spring so it will be exposed. I want an "older" look with drum brakes so a modern unit will be out of place. I'm open to all options. I also need a transverse leaf spring cross member. 59-60" axle flange is what I think I need. Any ideas?BUILD'EM, DRIVE'EM, BREAK'EM

Cool, the Frankland QC I looked at yesterday was an open hub, won't work with drums, disc only. Too bad, it was friggin neat, it would make someone a bad arse set up. I'll get with you later in the week.BUILD'EM, DRIVE'EM, BREAK'EM

Jake; How wide and what exactly are you wanting.
The rear I have may be too narrow for what you need.
It's out of a 65 Ranchero, but free to a good home. Kurt

Axle flange measurement of around 59" to 60" should work. This project will be along the lines of "60's traditional" so I have to be careful using parts that are too new. Someone was kind enough to give me one out of a 1950 Ford but it had a factory 4.27 ratio, it probably would have cost well over $500 to make it work.BUILD'EM, DRIVE'EM, BREAK'EM

Jake; The 65 Ranchero rear end I have is only about 53 inches wide, sorry.
But after checking you can use a full size ford truck rear end they run at 60 inches.
I'm imagining that's a heavy metal car, so you will probably want a 9 inch rear end so nothing is breaking on you. So here is a good site for you to review, for your own benefit.
I would pull the axle's before I bought one, to try to get a 31 spline for strength.

Hope this helps. Kurt

I have a 9 ford out of a 85 f150 had a 302 in it youre welcome to it, its all there and good except for the brake shoes and drums. I think it was about a 373 ratio Terry
